Soul of the Forest
In this work, the boundary between root and branch has disappeared. The dark, dense forms across the upper part of the painting resemble the crowns of trees rooted in the sky, while their slender lines descend into an endless field of gray. I wanted to portray the forest in a state between earth and sky—a place where trees are nourished not only by soil, but also by memory, rain, darkness, and light. Traces of green concealed within the gray suggest a life that continues beneath the weight of every layer. “Roots of the Sky” tells a story of invisible connections—the forces that hold us even when we no longer know where our roots belong. Perhaps everything that grows above us has a hidden root somewhere within us.
